Diamond Strings was founded by violinist Yennifer Correia as a way to do what she loves most — make beautiful music with people she truly admires. What started as a passion project has grown into a close-knit group of professional musicians who share a love for great music and meaningful moments.
We’ve spent years performing in concert halls, symphonies, and events of all kinds — but what we love most is bringing that experience to weddings and private celebrations. Every Diamond Strings musician is an active member of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. When you book us, you’re getting the same artistry you’d hear at the Cannon Center — brought to your wedding aisle or event stage.
Whether we’re performing a timeless classic or a string version of your favorite pop song, we care deeply about making the music feel personal, elegant, and full of heart. Every performance is thoughtfully crafted, and yes — we’re still pinching ourselves that this is what we get to do.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Yennifer — violinist and founder of Diamond Strings. Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I feel incredibly lucky to share that passion through this ensemble.
I am currently a member of the violin section of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and I’ve spent my life performing on stages around the world, from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center to concert halls across three continents. I’ve also had the joy of sharing the stage with a variety of artists including Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, and The Who, and was featured on NBC in a nationally televised performance with John Legend. My work spans everything from live concerts to luxury events. I’m frequently engaged for studio recording sessions for film scores, video games, and private productions, bringing precision and artistry to every project.
These experiences have taught me to approach every performance with care, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the moments music can help create.
I started Diamond Strings to bring that same level of artistry and excellence to life’s most meaningful celebrations. Whether it’s a wedding, private event, or special occasion, I believe music should feel personal and unforgettable.
When I’m not performing or planning events, you’ll probably find me with my husband chasing our kids around the Memphis Zoo, walking trails at Shelby Farms, or trying out new restaurants around town.
Meet Our Team of World-Class Musicians
Barrie Cooper, violin
Barrie Cooper is a nationally recognized violinist and the longtime Concertmaster of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, known for her precision, leadership, and expressive artistry. With a career spanning decades, Barrie has performed across the U.S., Japan, and Europe, including 24 summers as Principal Second Violin with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
A Peabody Conservatory graduate and winner of both the Marbury Violin Competition and the Josef Kasper Prize for excellence in violin performance, she brings an elite level of training and performance to every stage. Her early studies with renowned Suzuki pedagogue John Kendall, whom she later assisted on international tours, shaped her deep musical foundation.
Whether leading an orchestra or performing chamber music, Barrie’s refined musicianship and rich experience make her an invaluable asset to Diamond Strings—and a standout performer for elegant weddings and luxury events.
Aaron Tubergen,Viola
Aaron Tubergen brings world-class experience and artistry to Diamond Strings. He currently serves as the Acting Assistant Principal Viola of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and has performed over 100 concerts with the internationally acclaimed Cleveland Orchestra, appearing at venues like Carnegie Hall and the Adrienne Arsht Center.
A gifted educator and passionate musician, Aaron’s students regularly earn top chairs in All-West, All-State, and All-National orchestras. In addition to his role in Memphis, he performs with premier ensembles across the Southeast—including the Atlanta Symphony, IRIS Orchestra, and Nashville Symphony—and is a recording artist with Nashville Music Scoring, contributing to major film and video game soundtracks.
Aaron holds a degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied under the legendary Robert Vernon. His refined playing, depth of experience, and dedication to excellence make him a standout performer and a valued member of the Diamond Strings team.
Kimberly Patterson, cello
Dr. Kimberly Patterson is a Juilliard-trained cellist known for her expressive playing and thoughtful artistry. She has performed at renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and Lincoln Center, and toured internationally as a founding member of the award-winning Tesla Quartet and as a Julliard Global Artist.
She has been featured on NBC Universal performing with music star John Legend, and has also appeared with the rock band The Flaming Lips at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
In addition to her performance career, Dr. Patterson is Associate Professor of Cello at the University of Memphis. She is the cellist of the acclaimed Patterson/Sutton Cello and Guitar Duo, which has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America-bringing decades of chamber music experience to the stage.
With a warm, professional presence and a passion for meaningful music-making, Kimberly brings depth, elegance, and heart to all her performances.
